As a reward for doing our project on the Port of Cork, we got to go on a tour of Cork Harbour. On Monday last we headed for Cobh for a one hour trip on 3 high speed ribs. The tour brought us from Cobh across to Haulbowline and around by Ringaskiddy. then past the crematorium and out by Fort Mitchel on Spike Island. We speed out past Currabinny and Crosshaven to stop at the base of Fort Camden. Here (and at various other spots) our guides gave us lots of information.

We were on the look out for basking sharks at Roches Point but weren’t as lucky as the crew from the day before who had seen 15. From here we went past Fort Carlisle and White Gate before returning to Cobh. A wonderful time was had, though the sun was shining we were very cold when going at high speed out in the bay. Thanks so much to the Port of Cork for a great day out.
