1916 22 [424692]With the Centenary of 1916 commemorations in full swing nationwide, we decided to take a step back in time on Wednesday last to 1916 01 [424691]see what it would have been like for the student of the old school in Knocknamanagh National School. The senior pupils of the school dressed up in vintage clothing and brought the village of 1916 alive.

The rest of the school is busily preparing for the big day on Tuesday next, March 15th when we will raise our Tri-Colour flag along with all the other schools in the country to conclude the schools flags initiative. Some of third class are w
riting their own up to date proclamation, while the rest of them are preparing to read a letter written from an eye witness to the rising itself, written by a relative of our very own Sally Whyte. The junior classes will provide a guard of honour for the flag, while the senior classes will perform on the day.

All parents, guardians and members of the school community are welcome to attend this momentous occasion, with proceedings beginning at 11 a.m.
